About Surveying

Surveyors are integral to most property developments and infrastructure projects.  They have the knowledge and skills to work on complex projects within land, water, underground or aerial environments.

As skilled professionals, Surveyors are regularly engaged to measure the location of existing features or title boundaries, and to mark out the locations of infrastructure. Accurate digital data sets provide the key foundations for other professionals to use as a base for their work and the Land Surveyor is an essential professional on any project delivery team.  ISV’s members are at the forefront of new technological advancements and utilise aerial or marine drones, satellite positioning, and robotic instruments to accurately and efficiently deliver high accuracy and quality assured results for clients big and small.

Surveyors’ spatial skills allow them to work seamlessly in a three-dimensional real-world environment, bringing their technical expertise to the jobsite.  This combined with office-based analysis, computations and reporting skills round out their skill set as data management experts.

Licensed Surveyors have additional qualifications and skills in providing expert guidance to create or identify title boundaries and manage other related property matters.  Licensed Surveyors are the only professionals with the legal qualifications to undertake title boundary or cadastral surveys.   Those wishing to subdivide property, create an easement or merely understand a property title, need to engage a licensed surveyor.  They may be trusted to expertly negotiate what can be a complex process.
